We have worked on numerous residential interior projects, but never did we not share a common language with our client, until we worked with Tomato. Tomato is a poodle that is the center of our couple’s lives. Our client is Tomato, and he does not speak. Tomato’s owners became his spokesperson. Tomato needed us to redesign an existing three-bedroom apartment that caters to his needs, as he spends most of his time at this apartment. We considered both his perspective as well as his owners (or to Tomato, his caretakers). The contrast of the material palette is kept low in order not to create a visually exhausting environment for Tomato. Visual connection between higher zones (from his caretakers’ point of view) and the lower zones (from Tomato’s point of view) is always maintained.
